In this video you'll learn how to use Amplify hosting to deploy a Nuxt site from a Git repository. We'll begin by walking through the steps of creating the deployment and configuring the correct build settings to enable a static build. Once the site is deployed, we'll view the live site hosted on AWS.

In this video you'll learn how to deploy a static Nuxt site to AWS's global edge CDN in less than two minutes. We'll start from scratch, creating a new Nuxt site using npx and walk through the build configuration to set up the deployment target for Jamstack / static site hosting. From there, we'll initialize a new Amplify project using the Amplify CLI and walk through the settings to configure the proper build command for Amplify hosting. Finally, we'll deploy and view the live site. Once we're finished, we'll delete the project and the hosting service.

We take the opengraph image we wrote in codesandbox and copy it into our serverless function. We use Rollup to compile the component into an IIFE (immediately invoked function expression) that can run in our headless browser environment and cover a wide set of rollup plugins that we need for compatibility. We end the lesson having successfully screenshot our opengraph react component from our Netlify Function

The Chrome Developer Tools (DevTools for short), are a set of web authoring and debugging tools built into Google Chrome.

The axe browser extension (for Chrome and Firefox) is an immensely helpful tool for auditing web pages for accessibility defects.  This extension is powered by the same rules engine developed by Deque Labs in their axe-core open source library which also powers the react-axe development tool.  Each reported defect offers a ton of information about the defect, why it's a problem, severity level, groups impacted and ways to fix the defect.  This can be a great resource for learning more about how to write accessible code.

tota11y is a great tool to add to your accessibility auditing toolkit.  tota11y is a browser extension available for Chrome and Firefox that helps visualize accessibility violations (and successes), while educating on best practices.  It can make for a really helpful supplement to other accessibility auditing tools.

Use tota11y to Visualize Accessibility Issues

Using our accessibility auditing toolkit we can find issues concerning landmark regions in our web application.  The react-axe library will report findings in the JavaScript console of the browser.  We could also run the axe browser extension to see the same results.  The tota11y browser extension will annotate any landmark regions on the page and therefore if none are annotated it may indicate that they aren't any (_NOTE: tota11y will only annotate landmark regions using aria roles and not those using HTML5 elements_).  Finally using the VoiceOver Rotor in Safari will show us whatever landmark regions have been defined in the Landmarks menu.

Accessible animations with reduced motion

URLs often reflect some bit of data that the page should load. This lesson walks you through adding a custom URL Param to the router then forwarding that Param to load data onto the page.

As you create more and more routes, the paths become difficult to manage and concatenate the parts together as just a giant string. Using named routes allows you to reference the route by a simple string then pass in the params as an object. I've been using Cursor for a very long time and their "Agent" feature in Composer is fairly new, so I'm still getting used to it. But since Windsurf recently got onto the stage with their Cascade agent, they've slowly been gaining the mind share on the UX for coding agents. I decided to put them to the test by putting Windsurf and Cursor on the exact same screen side by side trying to accomplish the same task and to see which workflow I would prefer. I've been a diehard Cursor user for over a year now, so it's going to take a lot for me to switch to a different IDE. But I just have to say, even from this simple demo, Windsurf is looking pretty nice.
