Displaying a list of physical locations is helpful, but showing them on a map, giving your potential customers the ability to see how close each store really is to their location is even better.

GraphCMS supports adding coordinates as a field to our data models, where we can dynamically pull those coordinates in and add them to a map.

We'll walk through how we can loop through our store locations and add each one to a new React Leaflet map. We'll also learn about some pitfalls of using React Leaflet in an app framework like Next.js and how we can solve it with dynamic imports and manual image imports.

Add All Store Locations to a React Leaflet Map with Location Data From GraphCMS

If our store supports physical locations, we want to give our customers the opportunity to easily find out those locations so they can visit us in person. That means, we need to show them somewhere on our site.

We can take advantage of GraphCMS custom Schema Models to create a new document for each store.

We'll walk through setting up a new model for our stores and how we can query them in our app to list out all of our locations.

We are going to create a schema as we did in lesson 2, but this one is going to be for our Categories at the bottom of the home page. This will be slightly different because we are going to add a Reference field. This way we can create a reference between our categories and our products. 

Then over in the content tab, we will add our existing products to an Apparel category, an Accessory category, and a Featured category.

We want to set up a schema for the most important part of our store, our products. We set up all the fields that we'll need, including the name, the image, and the price.

We also set up the description, which we'll use later when we're setting up individual product pages. Then we will see how we can easily construct and query for our data inside of GraphCMS and append that products query to the end of our existing query.

There, we will pass along that data, just like our existing home page data to our app, where we dynamically render our first four products inside of GraphCMS.

In this lesson, we explore how to hook into TanStack Router's lifecycle hooks to execute custom logic during route changes.

The hooks we'll look into are: `onEnter`, `onStay`, and `onLeave`, which are triggered when entering, staying within, or leaving a route, respectively.

All hooks receive a detailed match parameter, providing information about the route's path, ID, and tons of other details.

This allows for the implementation of features like animations or logging when navigating between routes.

We also learn how to use these hooks to track and manage state changes as users interact with the application, making it easier to implement complex behaviors based on route transitions.

In this lesson, we learn how to reorganize file-based routes in TanStack Router to accommodate nested routing structures.

We explore how to create additional nested routes by converting files into directories, allowing for further nesting.

For example, to create a nested route like `/employees/$employeeId/edit`, we can create a **directory** (!) named `$employeeId` and place an `index.tsx` file inside it to define the route component for this nested route.

This approach provides flexibility in organizing files while maintaining the convention that file names and locations align with route paths. We also see how to adapt existing components and loaders to work with these reorganized routes, enabling features like edit forms or delete actions (or whatever) within nested routes.

In this lesson, we learn how to parametrize the loader for a nested route in TanStack Router.

We focus on a nested route like `/employees/$employeeId`, where the `$employeeId` is a **dynamic parameter**.

To fetch data for this route, we use a `loader` function that accesses the `$employeeId` parameter. This is achieved by using the params object available in the `loader` function, which contains the dynamic segments of the URL. We then use this parameter to call a function like `getEmployeeById`, which fetches specific employee details from an API.

We highlights that TanStack Router **automatically infers types** for these parameters, ensuring type safety for nested routes.

In this lesson, we learn how to create nested routes and outlets in TanStack Router using file-based routing.

We start by creating a new `employees` directory and files to represent nested routes, such as `/employees/$employeeId`. The `$` symbol is used to denote dynamic parameters.

We then use the `<Link>` component from TanStack Router to create links to these nested routes, passing necessary parameters.

To render the nested content, we use the `<Outlet>` component (nested), which automatically renders child routes. This approach allows us to dynamically display stuff under a nested route.

All the time, the TanStack Router generator automatically updates the route tree based on file changes - our routing configuration remains consistent 🔥
