It's heavily rate-limited at the moment, but still fun to play with for generating short 8-second clips.

The biggest splash was probably GPT-4.1 hitting the streets, but there's plenty more action around MCP, Vercel's v0, Google's developer tools, and interesting community discussions. I've spent some time with GPT-4.1 already (specifically in Cursor), and while it shows promise, it didn't quite convince me to switch from Gemini 2.5 Pro yet. It stumbled on a few basic requests where Gemini usually shines on the first attempt.

  * Project IDX has officially become [Firebase Studio](https://x.com/_davideast/status/1909990728593453455), positioning itself as a cloud-based, agentic dev environment for full-stack AI apps, deeply integrated with Firebase. I've tried spinning up a few sites with it, and the speed is impressive. However, for more complex tasks like designing from images or intricate interactions, I still find myself leaning towards v0 for now.

  * Google quietly released the [Agent Development Kit (ADK)](https://x.com/omarsar0/status/1910004370864742757), a Python library (`pip install google-adk`) for building multi-agent systems with features like state management, tool usage, and orchestration. I haven't had a chance to dive into this yet, but it's right at the top of my list. Building robust agent systems is a huge area of interest, so this is probably the announcement I'm most excited about exploring this week.

  * Ramón Medrano Llamas shared his experience [moving back to VS Code from Cursor](https://x.com/rmedranollamas/status/1909516749612999149), highlighting the effectiveness of GitHub Copilot combined with the Gemini Code Assist extension (using Gemini 2.5 Pro in Agent Mode). I gave the Gemini Code Assist extension a try myself, but as someone deeply embedded in the Cursor workflow with established keyboard shortcuts and patterns, I struggled to find a flow I liked and didn't stick with it for long. It's interesting to see different perspectives, though!

* **Cloudflare Corner:**

  * Big news for edge compute: [Cloudflare Containers are coming to Open Beta in June](https://x.com/CherryJimbo/status/1910682562499850405), enabling running containerized apps (Next.js, Go, PHP confirmed) directly on the edge. This is huge news, in my opinion. Think about all the WordPress sites and other applications that rely on containerization. Opening this up on the edge unlocks incredible possibilities, including for AI applications. I'm super hyped to see what people build with this come June.

## Llama 4 & Nemotron-Ultra Released

Meta's Llama 4 models began rolling out, with initial reports of variable quality across implementations. Nvidia subsequently released **Llama-Nemotron-Ultra** (253B parameters), derived from Llama-405B via pruning and reasoning-focused post-training. Productive Developer Workflows with AI Enhanced Cursor IDE

webpack is a tool to build JavaScript modules in your application. To start using webpack from its cli or api, follow the Installation instructions. webpack simplifies your workflow by quickly constructing a dependency graph of your application and bundling them in the right order. webpack can be configured to customise optimisations to your code, to split vendor/css/js code for production, run a development server that hot-reloads your code without page refresh and many such cool features.

As you refactor and modify applications, it's difficult to manage and keep track of files as they become unused. Keeping this "dead" code around adds noise to your application and reduces clarity. Just as ESLint can tell us when variables become unused, Webpack (with the help of the unused-files-webpack-plugin) can tell us when entire files become unused. First, we'll install the plugin with npm and save it as a devDependency. Next, we'll use npm run scripts to build a new command that will run Webpack with the plugin. Finally, we'll learn how to use Webpack environment variables to conditionally add plugins to your Webpack config. By the end of the lesson, you'll have a useful cli command you can run to check for unused modules in your Webpack build

Babel has support for the latest version of JavaScript through syntax transformers. These plugins allow you to use new syntax, right now without waiting for browser support.

In this lesson, we'll configure webpack to use the Babel loader for our JavaScript files, allowing us to transpile our source files and generate a bundle for deploying our application.

While we're developing an application, having a local server to preview our work is a great convenience. With `webpack`, we can take advantage of `webpack-dev-server` to serve up files and automatically reload the browser when we make changes. In this lesson, we'll install and configure `webpack-dev-server` in our boilerplate project.

We can separate our custom application code from the common libraries we leverage, such as React and ReactDOM. In this lesson we'll configure `webpack` to treat React and ReactDOM as external dependencies. Then we'll update our HTML template to conditionally include the CDN links for those libraries for production builds.

Bundle size has a huge impact on JavaScript performance. It's not just about download speed, but all the JavaScript we ship to the browser needs to be parsed and compiled before it can be executed. Keeping our bundle in check can be difficult, but it's much easier when we can see where the bloat is coming from. In this lesson, we'll add the `webpack-bundle-analyzer` plugin to inspect the output of our production build.

One approach to building high performance applications with `webpack` is to take advantage of code-splitting to only load the needed JavaScript on initial load and asynchronously load additional JavaScript bundles when needed. In this lesson, we'll create add some code-splitting to our placeholder application and configure our project to support the dynamic `import()` syntax.

In this lesson, we'll add React and ReactDOM to our project and create an entry point for the React application. We'll also configure Babel with the React preset so Babel can transpile our JSX into JavaScript that will run in a browser.

The `development` and `production` modes in `webpack` optimize the output in different ways. In `development` mode, the focus is on faster builds and a better developer experience. In `production` mode, the focus is on highly optimized bundles, leading to a better user experience. The good news is, we can have both. In this lesson, we'll separate our `webpack` config into two configurations and update our scripts to run the right config for our needs.

The Chrome Developer Tools (DevTools for short), are a set of web authoring and debugging tools built into Google Chrome.

A potential downside to all the transformations our tools perform on our code is that when you need to debug your application, the code being served isn’t the code you wrote. This is where source maps save the day. We can serve transformed and bundled code, then debug in DevTools against our source code right in the browser. In this lesson we’ll take a look at the default debug experience without source maps, then we’ll configure webpack to generate source maps and look at the enhanced experience.

As of `webpack` version 4, there is a top-level configuration option called `mode`. Mode allows us optimize for build speed during development, while optimizing for runtime performance and smaller bundles for production builds. In this lesson, we'll add the mode key to our webpack configuration and look at the difference in output between the `production` and `development` settings.

Even if it's only a simple one, we'll need to serve up an HTML file to run our JavaScript app. We can hardcode the bundle path into a script tag, but then if we want to change our bundle name, we need to update that in our webpack config and in our html file. In this lesson, we'll see how to use the `HtmlWebpackPlugin` to inject the script tag for our bundle into an HTML template file.

It's inconvenient during development to have to run a script each time we make a change to our source. We can have webpack generate an updated bundle as we make changes. In this lesson, we'll create an `npm` script to run webpack in watch mode and  see it in action as we modify some source files.

Generating new bundles when we change files is a great start, and the live-reload provided by webpack dev server is convenient, but a reload means we lose our application state. When you want to see the results of minor adjustments while your application is in a specific state, it would be more convenient if we could have our changes reflected without losing that state. In this lesson, we'll add hot reloading to our development webpack server so our changes will be reflected in the browser when we save new changes, without the need to a refresh.

In this course, we'll start with an empty directory and build up a starter project for building a React application.

Along the way, we'll work with webpack and babel to transform, code-split, and bundle our code. We'll create npm scripts to execute commands and work with git and GitHub to track changes and share our code in public. We'll build quality into our project with Jest for unit testing and ESLint for static analysis. We'll configure Prettier for formatting and then enforce all these quality checks before commit with git hooks. We'll even incorporate some accessibility checks and enforce some best practices in React with react-axe, React's StrictMode and a default ErrorBoundary component.

Whether you end up using the resulting project to start new projects of your own, or you continue to use great community tools like Create React App, you'll leave this course understanding the underlying tools and how they work together.

In this lesson, we'll add some initial files to our project, install `webpack` and `webpack-cli`, and setup an npm script to create a JavaScript bundle using `webpack`. We'll inspect the resulting bundle to understand what webpack does by default. We’ll also add a .gitignore file to avoid committing node_modules and files that result from a build process.

This lesson shows how to build custom MCP (Model Context Protocol) server tools that bridge this gap. Learn to define tool parameters using Zod schemas and the crucial `.describe()` method to explicitly request necessary context from the Cursor environment *before* your tool runs. See how the AI gathers this information (like Git status or version via terminal commands, or web search results) and passes it to your tool, enabling powerful, context-aware automation.

*   Scaffold a basic MCP server using a Cloudflare template (`pnpm create cloudflare`).
