Displaying a list of physical locations is helpful, but showing them on a map, giving your potential customers the ability to see how close each store really is to their location is even better.

GraphCMS supports adding coordinates as a field to our data models, where we can dynamically pull those coordinates in and add them to a map.

We'll walk through how we can loop through our store locations and add each one to a new React Leaflet map. We'll also learn about some pitfalls of using React Leaflet in an app framework like Next.js and how we can solve it with dynamic imports and manual image imports.

If our store supports physical locations, we want to give our customers the opportunity to easily find out those locations so they can visit us in person. That means, we need to show them somewhere on our site.

We can take advantage of GraphCMS custom Schema Models to create a new document for each store.

We'll walk through setting up a new model for our stores and how we can query them in our app to list out all of our locations.

We are going to create a schema as we did in lesson 2, but this one is going to be for our Categories at the bottom of the home page. This will be slightly different because we are going to add a Reference field. This way we can create a reference between our categories and our products. 

Then over in the content tab, we will add our existing products to an Apparel category, an Accessory category, and a Featured category.

We want to set up a schema for the most important part of our store, our products. We set up all the fields that we'll need, including the name, the image, and the price.

We also set up the description, which we'll use later when we're setting up individual product pages. Then we will see how we can easily construct and query for our data inside of GraphCMS and append that products query to the end of our existing query.

There, we will pass along that data, just like our existing home page data to our app, where we dynamically render our first four products inside of GraphCMS.

Express will be used to create our HTTP application. We'll need it to post to our endpoints and listen to our port.

We need the `cors` package to make cross-origin requests since the front-end will be a different origin than the server.

Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) is the idea of grouping permissions together by a role. Users are assigned a role through the Auth0 dashboard the corresponding permissions are placed on the user's access token (JWT) after authenticating. That access token can be extracted by an Auth0 SDK (this video uses JavaScipt/ ReactJS) and sent to a custom server. 

Server Side logic (this video is based on NodeJS and ExpressJS), can then check for specific permissions and then allow or reject certain resources.

Nx is not only capable of scaffolding frontend projects, but it also supports a lot of backend setups. In this specific lesson, we're going to explore the setup we previously generated, specifically inspecting how passing `--frontentProject` to the Express.js schematic automatically sets up a [Webpack dev proxy](https://webpack.js.org/configuration/dev-server/#devserverproxy) to make it easy to call the backend API.

When we talk about monorepos, we don't talk about the frontend specifically. Quite contrary: an Nx workspace can also host our backend apps. This opens up completely new possibilities in terms of exchanging code between the frontend and corresponding backend API. One way to secure API routes is by using JSON Web Tokens (JWTs) which are passed with each request and checked before a lesson is returned. To do this, you need an OAuth server to provide the signing and authentication of these tokens. Auth0 provides this for free for up to 7,000 users.

In this lesson, we'll look at how to handle errors in syncronous and asyncronous request handler functions. 

We'll also look at custom error middleware that allows for better control over how we return errors to our client based on whether we are in a production or development environment.

Express provides a straightforward workflow to add functionality between the request and the response.

In this space your application can check the request, query other APIs and build up the response in parts before sending the final response.

In this lesson, we'll add an authenication middleware that will check for a specific header and confirm that it has the correct value. If either of these tests fail then the middleware will send an early response with a 401 status.

By default, Express doesn't parse JSON passed in the request body. In fact, the request body is seen as null by Express.

We need to add middleware to allow Express to be able to access the information passed in. In the past, we've had to lean on other libraries such as body-parser. As of version 4.17, Express now comes bundled with it's own JSON middleware.

We will use that middleware in this lesson, build some logic and send a response back to our client.

We explore how to create additional nested routes by converting files into directories, allowing for further nesting.

For example, to create a nested route like `/employees/$employeeId/edit`, we can create a **directory** (!) named `$employeeId` and place an `index.tsx` file inside it to define the route component for this nested route.

This approach provides flexibility in organizing files while maintaining the convention that file names and locations align with route paths. We also see how to adapt existing components and loaders to work with these reorganized routes, enabling features like edit forms or delete actions (or whatever) within nested routes.

We focus on a nested route like `/employees/$employeeId`, where the `$employeeId` is a **dynamic parameter**.

To fetch data for this route, we use a `loader` function that accesses the `$employeeId` parameter. This is achieved by using the params object available in the `loader` function, which contains the dynamic segments of the URL. We then use this parameter to call a function like `getEmployeeById`, which fetches specific employee details from an API.

We start by creating a new `employees` directory and files to represent nested routes, such as `/employees/$employeeId`. The `$` symbol is used to denote dynamic parameters.

We then use the `<Link>` component from TanStack Router to create links to these nested routes, passing necessary parameters.

To render the nested content, we use the `<Outlet>` component (nested), which automatically renders child routes. This approach allows us to dynamically display stuff under a nested route.
