This happens on Twitter, Discord, Slack, and many other platforms. This collection goes over everything from designing OpenGraph images in Figma, to implementing them in CodeSandbox, to returning headless browser screenshots from Netlify Functions, and finally using Cloudinary as a write-through cache. 

You will come away from this collection with the ability to ship an API that you can use on any of your sites, and also on-demand, that can generate images for not only OpenGraph unfurls, but also for Instagram, GitHub, and more. Using headless browsers with playwright to generate our images means we get full access to all the responsive power of CSS and all the logical power of JS to handle layout, importing assets like pngs, choosing different fonts, and more.

Screencasting is hard! There are virtually infinite ways to produce one. For an egghead.io lesson we expect several key aspects to be met. We want to make sure that our lessons have depth and clarity. Clarity is important and starts with the technical aspects of recording your screen and voice. Once we have achieved this objective level of clarity, we dip into the stylistic aspects of recording a lesson. The style is subjective, and the goal of an egghead.io lesson is not to have an army of uniform drone producing flavorless video content for the masses.

Our mission is to make you a badass screencaster. We want to push you to another level. We've found that a small set of standard practices will create an awesome experience for the student, and eliminate frustration as we teach by providing a repeatable pattern for success. WebGL (Web Graphics Library) is a JavaScript API for rendering interactive 3D and 2D graphics within any compatible web browser without the use of plug-ins. WebGL does so by introducing an API that closely conforms to OpenGL ES 2.0 that can be used in HTML5 <canvas> elements.

Build Complex 3D models with WebGL

In this course, we’ll get started creating content with WebGL without any frameworks. You’ll write raw JavaScript code and shaders in GLSL. This intro course covers setting up WebGL in an HTML application and learning the basics of 3d vertices, shaders, drawing modes, animation, interaction and transformations.

Any information you would want to put into an Intro or Outro belongs in the accompanying description, title, course page, etc. The lesson is only for showing the process. Talking about yourself, the lesson, or other lessons is a waste of time.

Avoid Intros and Outros

Tangents are opportunities for other lessons. When you find yourself drifting off-topic because you feel you _need_ to explain  some code you wrote, consider how that piece of code fits back into a "How do I?" question, then come up with a separate lesson to capture it.

In this lesson we cover how to pass an entire array of 3d points to a vertex shader, allowing you to render multiple points at once.

WebGL Vertex Buffers

Recording can be intimidating, so it's best to just hit the record button and start talking. Take it one thought at a time. Sit quietly, think about what you're going to say/type, then do it. If you mess, up, undo back to when you were quiet and try again. Once you get a good take, move on to the next thought. The ideal raw recording is a ton of bad takes and one good take for each thought. So when you get to the editing phase, you quickly clear out the bad takes and leave the good ones.

Editing a raw lesson video is a very simple process. You simply watch your own lesson and edit out all the bad takes and dead space using the "Ripple Delete" command. You will be left with a nice, cut lesson ready to export and upload.

Video is a one-way form of communication, so user's don't have the chance to ask you to clarify or ask "Where does X fit in?" This places the burden on you to guide their eyes as you explain how all the little pieces of the code fit together. When your application has a "flow", "X triggers Y, Y triggers Z", make sure to "show the flow" by walking them through where each chunk of code fits. This involves a lot of mouse movement (or fancy keyboard selection shortcuts) and hightlighting to bring it all together.

In this lesson, we take a look at a simple way of animating vertices in WebGL by simply changing the values of vertices.

In this lesson, we look at how to consolidate different data, such as position and color, into a single vertex array. This becomes more important as we keep adding attributes such as per-vertex data for lighting and textures. We will update the `stride` value in the `vertexAttribPointer` method to accommodate these changes.

In this lesson we actually handle several issues - perspective, clipping and aspect ratio. The perspective method that is used handles all of these issues.

In this lesson we will apply a single color per vertex and see how those colors are interpolated across an entire triangle, making use of a new kind of shader variable. We will also see how enabling `gl.DEPTH_TEST` will give our model proper depth by having webGL pay attention to z-values.

In this lesson, we look at how to draw more complex shape by building a list of indices that define different shapes to draw. This lets us re-use vertices to draw different parts of the shape.

This lesson will cover creating a directional light source of a certain color, setting normals on vertices, and use these two things to calculate the color of a surface at any point.
