We've seen how to return easy and a little complex data from our KV, but how about in a real-world application? We are going to remove the code we have created and set up a simple HTML application that will return our data based on an API which we will create.

Behind the scenes, I've updated the HTML UI and added in some helper JS functions to allow us to render new to-do's. We are going to start off by adding in the UI for a user to be able to input their own to-dos. Then we are going to work on creating a backend to store that data and retrieve it using our KV key of `"data"`.

Our application works but there is one major flaw. Everyone sees the same to-do's. To make to-do's user-specific, we are going to link users' data to their IP addresses so people only see to-dos based on their IP address.

Now that we have our Workers project up and running, we need to create a KV namespace. A KV namespace is a key-value database that is replicated to Cloudflare's edge. Using the terminal, we will create our namespace and add it to our wrangler.toml file.

Creating a new workers project using Wrangler is pretty easy. We first will install and double-check that we have Wrangler installed. Then we will connect Wrangler to our cloudflare project. Lastly, using the terminal, we can easily create our new Wrangler project.

We can store and retrieve our data from our KV but not the status of whether or not it's checked off. To do that, we create a function called `completeTodo` that will target the checkbox, find the todo based on its id, flips the boolean from false to true and saves that data, and then updates our to-dos.

We've learned how to write and receive data from our database, but we've only done it with fairly simple values. Now we are going to see how to do the same thing but with complex key values. There are two ways of doing this. One is the default route where we just return the value back from our KV. The second is where one route takes in a name parameter and sets it as the value for a key. The second path is the one we are going to look at in this lesson.

To access that data that we stored in our database, we use the .`get()` function. `.get()` is also an async function and we will need to `await` it.

Now that we have our database setup, we need to be able to write data to that database. Firstly, we need to understand the binding concept. Secondly, we are going to use `.put()` to write that data to our database. Remember that `.put()` is an async function so we need to `await` it for it to work in the way that we want it to.

Supabase is an open source Firebase alternative. A service to:

- Listen to database changes.
- Query your tables, including filtering, pagination, and deeply nested relationships (like GraphQL).
- Create, update, and delete rows.
- Manage your users and their permissions.
- Interact with your database using a simple UI.

Supabase is not a 1-to-1 mapping of Firebase. Most notably, Supabase uses Postgres rather than a NoSQL store.

Cloudflare Workers let you write JavaScript Service Workers that run directly in Cloudflare's 200+ edge locations around the world.

With a Cloudflare Worker, you can modify your site's HTTP requests and responses, make parallel requests, and even reply directly from the edge.

Cloudflare Workers are written against a similar API to the W3C Service Workers standard. However, while Service Workers run inside the end user's browser, Cloudflare Workers run on Cloudflare's servers. This means that Cloudflare Workers can implement trusted code (which the client cannot tamper with), and will work no matter what browser the user is running.

The `Access-Control-Allow-Headers` response header is used in response to a preflight request which includes the `Access-Control-Request-Headers` to indicate which HTTP headers can be used during the actual request.

[Verdaccio](https://verdaccio.org/) is a fully featured NPM registry that you can run locally on your machine. Nx includes a [generator](https://nx.dev/features/generate-code) that simplifies setting up Verdaccio. To configure it, run:

In TypeScript, developers often begin by defining the structure of their data using type definitions or interfaces, which is a powerful way to ensure type safety. Any app of a decent size has event flows and messages being passed around. At a certain point it becomes complicated to explain it through prose and you want to turn towards diagrams. Now setting aside the time to create diagrams that accurately describe what's happening in your codebase can be quite time consuming. Luckily, with today's AI tools, we can now just do basic walkthroughs with rough recordings over codebase dictating what's going on along the way and then upload that to tools like AI Studio and then ask it to generate diagrams in a text-based format such as Mermaid that will then generate the flowcharts and diagrams for us. I'm a diehard Karabiner user and anytime I start doing something repetitively I always move it into my Karabiner configuration. Sometimes I'll fall into scenarios where I want to trigger a command, but I also want to know if that command succeeded or failed. Since Karabiner can trigger any command, setting up the command is fairly straightforward, but knowing whether it succeeded or failed became much more difficult. Luckily for me there is a package called terminal-notifier that you can install from homebrew and you can pipe the output of your command to terminal-notifier. And have a seamless way of triggering your keyboard shortcut which runs a command and you can be notified of the results.

There are a lot of scenarios when inspecting a site in Chrome where you don't want any click events to fire and you don't want any scripts to run. Or maybe something is animating in and out of the page and you want to capture it at a certain moment. This is a great use case for pausing script execution, which is kind of using the debugger manually by going into the Chrome DevTools and the Sources tab and clicking the pause button to essentially pause the entire page. This will give you a chance to inspect any of the elements and styles you want to inspect. And you don't have to worry about fire and click events or anything that might interrupt your investigation into the elements and styles that you want to find.

Gemini 2.0 has a context window of a million tokens, and this means that you can upload hundreds of files and allow it to inspect and analyze massive refactors across entire code bases. 

This lesson demonstrates concatenating an entire code base into a single file and then uploading it to AI Studio. Once within AI Studio, we ask it to find the types of tasks that it can evaluate for us. Then we select one of the tasks and ask it to generate instructions for that task. Once those instructions are complete, we then turn them over to Windsurf's Cascade agent, and we allow Windsurf's Cascade to do all of the work for us as we sit back, relax, and let the AI do our jobs.
