Svelte is a new approach to building user interfaces.

Instead of doing the vast majority of work at the runtime as other frameworks do, Svelte shifts that work into the compile step which happens when you build your app. As such, you're shipping heavily optimized code to your users.

In this quick lesson we are going to learn how to create a brand new project with Svelte 3 from scratch.

Tomasz: [0:00] First, use npx degit to create a new Svelte project. We're going to call it MySvelteProject. Once this is done, go to your new project directory and run npm install. Next, run npm run dev.

[0:17] Now, our Svelte app is ready for development. We can see it on the localhost:5000. To check if your project has been set up correctly, go to App.svelte. We're going to add another tag. We're going to say, "Hello, Egghead." After we save, the app is going to be refreshed, and we're going to see the text over here.
