Use Expo Orbit to install past builds from EAS as well as from your local machine.
You can also use Orbit to easily view and launch all your connected simulators, emulators and physical devices.
π Expo Orbit
[00:00] Go to EAS and open up one of your past builds. You'll notice that for any installable builds, you'll have this little open with orbit button. Let's click it and head over to the GitHub page. Expo Orbit is an open source tool that lets you easily install past builds on connected devices, [00:19] emulators and simulators. You can install it either using BRU install or head over to the releases page. Download the latest archive, extract the archive and open the app. If at [00:39] this point you didn't have Android Studio or Xcode set up You'll get prompted to do so now but you can skip it if you just want to use Orbit for installing on physical devices. Let's click get started. Click on the Orbit icon icon on the menu bar. You'll be able to see all the simulators [00:59] and emulators that are installed on your computer. Let's open one of the iPhone simulators and also click it to make it the active target device. Now head over to EIS and open the iOS simulator build and click open with orbit. This will download the build and install it on the [01:19] simulator. From orbit we can also launch a different simulator and click it to make that the new target device. Click open with orbit again to install the build. Now we have the same exact development build running on 2 simulators. For Android, we can launch the Android emulator. Click it [01:39] to make it the active target device. On EAS, choose the internal distribution build and click open with Orbit. This will download the build and install it on the emulator. You can also use Orbit to install on physical devices. I'm going to plug in [01:58] my iPhone. Now if I close and reopen I can see my phone here. Let's select it to make it the active target device and choose one of the internal distribution builds and click open with Orbit which will download the build and install it on my iPhone. Now [02:18] if I plug in my Android phone, close and reopen, I'll be able to see it here on the Android. Click it to make it the target device and choose one of the Android internal distribution builds and click open with Orbit. This will download the build and install it on my Android phone. You can [02:38] also choose to select a build from a local file. So for example for this Android internal distribution build, I can download the build and click select build from local file and choose the APK from my downloads. This way you won't have to download the build every time.
