In order to access our Map instance, we need to use React's ref functionality. We'll start with React's useRef hook and use it to apply a ref to our map.
Instructor: [0:00] In order to add a ref to our map we're going to use the React Hook useRef. The first thing we want to do is import that right from React. Next, we need to create that ref. We're going to create a new constant called mapRef, and we're going to set that equal to useRef.
[0:11] In order to associate that ref with our map, we're going to add a new prop called ref, and we're going to pass in our mapRef. Now we should be able to use it to access our map.
